Orange & White Night

Business owners, alumni, faculty and Boone parents all enjoyed an evening of dining, socializing and music provided by Boone’s own Jazz Band, at the Boone High School Foundation’s first “Orange & White Night” Aug.25, 2011 on the 18th floor of the newly rennovated Citrus Club.   It was our first upscale fundraising event designed to raise the awareness of Boone High’s immediate technological needs to help meet theincreasing digital state requirements for schools.

With our theme of “Bedrock to Boone Rocks” and the use of standup Flintstone characters, along with a short powerpoint presentation, we were able to effectively communicate the school’s critical needs to provide teaching tools: Elmo’s, Smartboards and Tablets for the teachers.  Studies show that these tools have helped to engage the students more effectively in the classroom and to raise their overall scores as well – we are teaching the digital generation!

This will become an annual event to be held in the early fall of 2012, a date will be announced later.  Sponsorship opportunities are available.  Please contact Holly Theus Storrs (Class of 70) at hstorrs@cdsorlando.com
